WHAT

Learn the art of making up improv comedy characters together in a fun and supportive series of workshops!

In this eight-week course you’ll learn skills which will help bring life to your characters in your improv scenes. Through playing games and scenes, you’ll develop an understanding of what makes a “character” and how we can develop these in an improv scene.

We’ll have fun with the physical elements of characterisation including movement and voice, as well as creating comedy from the character’s personality, opinions, and attitudes. By the end of this of this eight-week course you will have new skills in your improv toolbelt to give you the confidence and knowledge to create interesting, fun, and effective characters.

WHO

This course is suitable for those who have some improv experience and have preferably completed our Beginners Improv Course. The course will be run by Ed Pithie, who has 10 years’ experience in teaching improv, and potentially guest teachers who will coach you in a specific element of building character or playing with characterisation.
