PRIVACY POLICY

Please read our privacy policy which will have to be agreed to before you take part in a class or retreat.

Privacy Policy

In order that we can facilitate our classes and retreats effectively, we will need to collect and use some personal information. The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), which applies in the United Kingdom and across the European Union, sets out our obligations to you and your rights in respect of how we manage your personal information.

1. We will ensure that the personal information we hold about you is:

 

  • Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way.

  • Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.

  • Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about.

  • Kept securely.

 

2. The information we collect from you in this form and at the event may include:

 

  • Your name, home address, and contact details (including your telephone number, email address) and emergency contact.

  • Your allergies and any medical, physical or mental conditions.

  • Your feedback, including complaints, compliments or concerns, and contributions to questionnaires and surveys about the event.

  • Photos of you taken at the event.

 

3. We use your personal information to:

 

  • Communicate with you about the event.

  • Make reasonable adjustments, when required, to meet your individual needs and to ensure we have suitable facilities to ensure your safety.

  • Review our service and improve the event experience.

  • Notify you about changes to our services which are relevant to you.

 

4. Who we share your personal information with:

 

  • Your personal information will be held by Ed Pithie and only shared to other Dingbats Improv facilitators and suppliers when necessary in accordance with reasons for holding your data in section 3.

  • We will not share, sell, or trade your personal information with any other third party.

 

5. Under the GDPR you have a number of important rights free of charge. In summary, those include rights to:

 

  • Require the erasure of personal information concerning you, in certain situations. Please note that if you ask us to delete any of your personal information which we believe is necessary to ensure effective communication and the safe running of the event, we may no longer be able to accommodate you at the event.

  • Inform us that you would not like us to use your image on social media or in marketing materials after the event.

IMAGE USE

At our events our facilitators or professional photographers may take photos. By signing up to our events you agree for Dingbats Improv to take photographs which include your image and for these photographs to be used for marketing purposes online and in print.

You are within your rights to request that no photos of you are taken at our events. If you would like to invoke this right, then we would expect you to avoid big group photos and to let us know in writing (by email) before event. You are within your rights at ayny time to request that any photos we have containing your images are not used for marketing purposes (unless already in print use) and are erased.
